ST. MICHAEL'S MEDICAL CENTER INTERIORS
St. Michaels Medical center, located on the arterial roadway of West Bay Drive in Largo Florida, presented a number of design challenges around the tight site from issues of limited space to scale and street frontage. The overall project would include a new two story building housing office space above leasable retail, a reconfigured site plan with added parking and landscaping, and the remodel of the existing on-site surgery center with a connecting walkway to the newly designed office building.
To highlight the entry locations and provide focal points along the main façade tower elements where used adorned with Bahamas shutters, elongated roof brackets, and long vertical glazing, embracing the Florida architectural vernacular. The facades would also receive coral stonework, earth tone colors, and expansive awnings, along with multiple fronting storefronts on both front and rear to provide pedestrian scale and access.
The upper level interior design of the project included Class A medical office space that combined both modern and classical finishes through a decorative wave wall, water wall, luxury vinyl planking, and rich wood laminates.
